Meanwhile you will have formally applied for the mortgage and once an offer has been sent out by the lender, we will approve the terms and sent a Mortgage Report to you for approval.
Once we are in possession of the contract package, we will request monies from you in order to apply for the searches. These are documents required by your mortgage lender, issued by the relevant council and private providers and they inform us about water & drainage matters in addition to environmental issues that we should be aware of. The searches usually take a few weeks to be sent to us but once we have received them, we will send a Search Report to you for approval.

Upon confirmation that all parties are ready to proceed and we have completed a final file audit, we will ask you to sign your mortgage deed.
We will confirm that the remortgage has been completed once we have received balance in full from the new lender and redeemed the balance on your old mortgage.
How long should it take? Whilst timeframes can vary considerably due to various factors such as mortgage delays, searches and leasehold managing agents, at Evolve Law we average around 6 weeks for a standard remortgage.
